5. Summary
- 고 means "and" or "and then": 먹고 가요. It never changes form.
- 지만 means "but": 비싸지만 맛있어요. It never changes form either.
- 아서/어서 means "because" or "so": 아서 after ㅏ or ㅗ, 어서 after other vowels, and 해서 for 하다 verbs.
- 아서/어서 can also link steps: 시장에 가서 과일을 샀어요.
- Put the past tense only at the end with 아서/어서: 바빠서 못 갔어요, never 바빴어서.
- No command or suggestion can follow 아서/어서. Use 니까 for that.
