5. Summary
- 을/를 marks the object of a verb, the thing that receives the action.
- Use 을 after a consonant and 를 after a vowel: 빵을, 물을, 커피를, 영화를.
- It goes with action verbs such as 먹다, 마시다, 보다, 사다 and 공부하다.
- 좋아하다 is a verb and takes 을/를, as in 김치를 좋아해요.
- 좋다 is an adjective and takes 이/가, as in 날씨가 좋아요.
- In casual speech 을/를 is often dropped, but keep it while you are learning.
