5. Summary

• 에 marks a destination with 가다 and 오다, as in 학교에 가요.
• 에 marks where something is or is not with 있다, 없다 and 살다: 방에 있어요, 집에 없어요.
• 에 marks time: 세 시에, 월요일에, 아침에. Do not use it after 오늘, 어제, 내일: say 내일 가요.
• 에서 marks the place of an action: 도서관에서 공부해요, 식당에서 먹어요.
• 에서 also means "from": 미국에서 왔어요. Never use 에서 for time.
• Rule of thumb: movement or existence uses 에, and an action in a place uses 에서.
